Grow step by step!

Let’s go back to the example of the baby. During the first years, most of his growth concerns the development of his organs. He grows in size, develops his physical abilities, and so on. Then, the focus ‘shifts’ to his education. There again, the child will grow. Then, will come the acquisition of maturity, through practice and acquiring a rich experience in each of his areas of interest. And at this point, there is no limit.

For the child of God, growth is certainly continuous, but not in the same area. We go from one domain to another, from one subject to another, and so on. Training in one area can be successfully completed, but there will always be an opportunity to explore something new that matches our curiosity.

I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.

1 John 2: 14

Let us not remain eternal “little” children of God, but let us evolve, and live daily as Fathers, that is to say children of God who know the Father, who have conquered the evil one and who keep within themselves the Word of God. At this point, our knowledge of the Father will be perfect and unlimited. With confidence, we can declare that we know (in the present tense) the Father, our Father, as well as Jesus and the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

So remember this: if you are children of God, it is because Growing and Excelling are your norm, and functioning in these two things is an essential part of your inheritance from the Father.

Be blessed in Jesus!
